EV charging station opened on Dhaka-Chattogram highway

A commercial EV charging station has been set up at Cumilla on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway to charge electric vehicle (EV) batteries. Crack Platoon Solutions Limited has set up this charging station at Miami Laser Spot in Burichong Kalakachua of the district. Dhaka Electricity Supply Company DESCO will distribute electricity to the station.

Power Development Board (PDB) Chairman Md. Mahbubur Rahman inaugurated this e-charging station on Saturday afternoon. PDB Chairman expects that the inauguration of this station will make the charging facility more accessible on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway and the country's electric vehicle drivers will be at ease. He commented that it will help to increase the use of electric vehicles. 

Senior Secretary of Power Department Board Md. Habibur Rahman Shreda Chairman Munira Sultana, Member of PDB Distribution Department Md. Mizanur Rahman and Chairman of Crackplatoon Charging Solution Limited Farhan Khalil, Managing Director Tanveer Shahriar Utsha and Abu Mosaib Khan were present.

Tanveer Shahriar Utsha, Managing Director of Crack Platoon Charging Solutions Limited, said, "We want to contribute to the development of the electric car industry in the country. This station will create an important opportunity for electric car drivers.”

He also said, 'It takes five to eight hours to charge the battery depending on the brand of the vehicle in transport companies. On the other hand, our stations can be charged in 25 to 40 minutes depending on the battery capacity. As a result, if more such stations are opened, users express the opinion that they will be able to go on long drives with electric cars.
